Description
The building of Basuna Mosque was an alternative solution to
rebuild "Abu Stait Mosque, 300 years" which distroyed due to the
floods.
The design is intended to look into the connection between
the created and the Creator, as shown in the 99 names of Allah in the Mihrab by
the alabaster stone. and counterclockwise columns as "al tawaf"
movement.
There is a multi-use hall in this mosque which designed to
accommodate activities during Fridays and Ramadan. It is also designed to serve
an array of purposes all year round, such as temporary medical clinics,
after-school and literacy tuition classes. Also, there are 4 entrances to the
building, two of which could be made accessible for worshippers with special
needs. The ceiling dome provides the
natural light and ventilation.
