Description
Islam in Contemporary Mexico is a book based on Dr. Fitra Ismu Kusumo's Master's thesis on the same subject in 2004. The book contains the history of the entry of Muslims in the post-Columbian era, in the 19th century, as well as the wave of Arab migration to Mexico in the early 20th century.
It explains in this book the Islamic movements in that country in the last 25 years, their spread, the difficulties encountered, as well as the labels that Muslims have in Mexico after the 9/11 event in the United States. The author focuses on the regions of Torreon, Mexico City and Chiapas.
