Description
The Mosque of Ibn Tulun has been commissioned by the young Turkish ruler Ahmad Ibn Tulun, who was sent to Cairo by the Caliph. The Mosque was built in 868, and is the oldest Mosque of Cairo. Its architectural style is sober, simple and therefore very pure.
