الوصف
As an introduction to the theme 'Muslim Inheritances in the Nago of Pernambuco: building founding myths of the religion of African matrix in Brazil', this study presents the initial trajectory of Islamic expansion in the African continent, as well as in Brazilian territory. In this context, this article proposes to reflect on the Islamic influences reproduced in the complex religious world of Afro-Pernambuco. To justify the little or almost no production of research, some authors allege that the black Muslims were a priori very violent and reserved, and that slave owners avoided having them in their ranks because of the threat of possible rebellions and, because of these facts, they had very little space to express their customs and ritual organization in the Afro-Brazilian culture. Without any pretension of exhausting the theme, this space offers the opportunity to observe some possible Muslim influences on the xangô/nagô candomblé from Pernambuco.
